pw cluster create

pw cluster create

Create a cluster

Synopsis

The pw cluster create command creates a cluster record. Pass the full definition with --definition (a JSON or YAML file, or - for stdin) to create a ready-to-start cluster in one step, or --from to copy another cluster's definition and alerts, the way the web's Duplicate action does. Without either, the cluster is created empty and configured later with pw cluster definition set.

Names may only contain lowercase letters and digits; the name becomes the display name unless --display-name is given.

Pass --start to provision the cluster as soon as it is created; the -o and --wait flags then behave as in pw cluster start.

pw cluster create <name> [flags]

Examples

pw cluster create --type aws-slurm --definition cluster.yaml --start myhpc

  # Copy an existing cluster's definition under a new name
pw cluster create --from pw://Jake.Thayne/prodhpc myhpc

  # Create an empty Google cluster to configure later
pw cluster create --type google-slurm --description "scratch" myhpc
pw cluster definition get myhpc > def.json
pw cluster definition set -f def.json myhpc

  # Register an existing (on-prem) cluster
pw cluster create --type existing onprem
