Parallel Works was founded in 2015 out of Argonne National Laboratory with the goal of democratizing HPC and AI, and a strong focus on commercializing workflow technologies to reinvent the way R&D practitioners interact with diverse computing resources.
Today Parallel Works ACTIVATE is the premiere control plane for HPC and AI resources, empowering R&D teams with seamless provisioning, management, and sharing of computing resources at scale. Designed for compute-intensive applications and AI models, ACTIVATE supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments with advanced cost control and budgeting features. Facilitating collaborative research, ACTIVATE enhances productivity through intuitive interfaces and API-driven processes, enabling flexible HPC cluster creation in the cloud.

We are based in downtown Chicago at 1871, the bustling center for technology and entrepreneurship. We launched the company through an early investment from the Chicago Innovation Fund and are grateful for the continued support and guidance of those at the Polsky Exchange, 1871, and advisors throughout the Chicago area.
