This position involves development and enhancement of the Parallel Works platform, which runs on all three leading public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. You’ll be responsible for developing the core platform and its backend services. You will interact with HPC job schedulers, cloud APIs, workflow management frameworks, and container systems to create a responsive, reliable, and user friendly system. Parallel Works provides developers the rare opportunity to interact with cutting edge cloud and on-premises technologies. We are very interested in hearing from individuals with experience architecting high performance computing clusters, parallel file systems, high throughput networking, and GPU clusters.
Required Experience Minimum:
- BSci in Computer Science or related field.
- 5-7+ years of programming experience in Golang or TypeScript, WebSockets, RabbitMQ, or other queue-based software architecture.
- Database experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Distributed computing, good understanding of how software is load balanced and deployed in production.
- Tunneling and port forwarding.
- Comfortable with Linux operating system, command-line shell interpreters, and scripting techniques.
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests, Git.
Desired Experience:
- Advanced degree (MSci or PhD) in Computer Science.
- Automation experience using Terraform, Ansible, and Python scripting.
- Familiarity with HPC schedulers such as PBS and Slurm.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud resources and design patterns in AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes, Docker, and Singularity.
- Architecting high performance computing clusters - on cloud and/or on premises.
In your role as Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate projects in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in HPC, an understanding of computational workflows, and proven experience in managing complex technical projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software and HPC engineers, research scientists, IT professionals, and stakeholders, to deliver HPC projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
Responsibilities:
- Define project objectives, scope, timelines, and deliverables for HPC projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, coordinate team schedules, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Track project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including researchers, engineers, and executive sponsors.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth and reliable project execution.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and impacts clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with teams to prioritize requirements and allocate resources effectively.
- Work with technical teams to ensure projects meet performance standards and industry requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, progress reports, and post-project evaluations.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in an HPC or high-performance technical environment.
- Experience managing projects related to HPC and web software.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-ACP, etc.) is a plus.
- Coding experience is a plus.
The Department of Defense (DoD) Sales Executive is responsible for driving business growth by establishing and strengthening relationships within the U.S. Department of Defense, with special emphasis on research groups. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, understanding complex DoD procurement processes, and effectively positioning the company's solutions to meet mission-critical needs. The DoD Sales Executive will lead business development activities and drive revenue growth, working closely with internal teams to tailor solutions that address the unique challenges and goals of DoD customers.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within various branches of the Department of Defense, including (but not limited to) Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, with a special emphasis on research groups with compute-intensive workloads.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within the DoD. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and strategic objectives.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Create and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting progress. Align strategies with company objectives and market trends.
- Proposal Development and Negotiation: Lead the preparation of proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of DoD clients. Negotiate contract terms in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Market Intelligence and Analysis: Stay informed of market trends, competitor activities, and emerging needs within the DoD sector. Leverage insights to refine sales approaches and influence product/service development.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with federal regulations, government contracting standards, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineering, product development, marketing, and project management teams to develop solutions that address DoD-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales or business development with a focus on the Department of Defense or Defense Contractors.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process, contracting vehicles, and federal procurement guidelines.
- Skills: Proven ability to develop strategies and drive results in a government sales environment. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in government contracting are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Network: Established network of contacts within various DoD branches.
- Technical Background: Familiarity with technology solutions used by defense agencies (e.g., cloud computing or high-performance computing).
- Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex requirements and develop innovative solutions that meet DoD objectives.

- Collaborate with engineers, technical experts, partners, and customers to conduct in-depth interviews, translating complex concepts into clear and persuasive content.
