## pw cluster definition set

Replace a cluster's definition from a file

### Synopsis

The **pw cluster definition set** command replaces a cluster's provisioning
definition with the contents of a JSON or YAML file (**-f -** reads stdin),
typically one saved with **pw cluster definition get** and edited.

On a cluster that is off, the whole definition is replaced. On a running
cluster only partitions, scheduler timeouts, bootstrap scripts and desktop
session settings can change; the command applies those over the agent and
refuses if anything else differs, naming the fields that need the cluster
stopped first.

```
pw cluster definition set <cluster> [flags]
```

### Examples

```
  # Edit and re-apply a definition
  pw cluster definition get myhpc > myhpc.json
  $EDITOR myhpc.json
  pw cluster definition set -f myhpc.json myhpc
  # Apply a definition from stdin
  cat myhpc.yaml | pw cluster definition set -f - myhpc
```

  -h, --help            help for set
  -o, --output string Output format (text, json) (default "text")
